Openlands

Nestled in the countryside, Openlands is a tranquil garden and wedding venue with a charming 100-year-old church, perfect for weddings and special functions. Established in 1961 on a modest half acre of land, Openlands has grown into a serene two and a half acre garden. Originally a sheep, pig, and dairy farm, it has since transformed into a dairy farm with a handful of sheep, while the former paddocks have blossomed into an expansive, relaxing garden.
The garden features perennial borders filled with camellias, rhododendrons, and roses, surrounding a large lawn. Visitors will find delightful surprises such as aviaries, a native dell, and a shade house. The standout feature is the historic Methodist church, relocated to Openlands in 2005 and beautifully restored. Its scenic surroundings make it an ideal venue for weddings, offering flexibility for both indoor and outdoor ceremonies. Wedding parties can enjoy the ceremony, photos, and refreshments all in one convenient location, rain or shine.
Openlands welcomes visitors by appointment and invites guests to explore the garden's many enchanting corners, relax by the water features, and soak in the beauty of the season. Large groups are welcome, making it an excellent spot for garden clubs and gatherings.
