Garden Itinerary Divider North Island Divider Hawke's Bay

Enjoy meeting New Zealand natives and their exotic friends...

New Zealand gardeners are amongst the luckiest on the planet. Nowhere else in the world offers such as amazing range of plants, thriving in an area so easily accessible to the visitor. In such a young country New Zealanders have a fresh innovative approach to the garden tradition.

Hawkes Bay

Hawkes Bay is a warm dry region renowned for its world class wines and gourmet food. An earthquake in the 1930s saw the rebuild of the city of Napier making it a beautiful Art deco centre that is enjoyed by many a visitor on foot. The gannet colony at Cape Kidnappers is also a popular spot. The plains make it a great place for biking with an abundance of recreational walkways and cycleways.

Basing yourself in Napier there are two Trust gardens that we recommend in the Hawkes Bay.

9am - 9.40am Travel from Napier to Trelinnoe
9.40am 11.30am Explore Trelinnoe
11.30am - 12.15pm Travel back to Napier
