Shalendy (Private)
Shalendy garden was established in 1990 from a bare paddock to complement our new home and create a piece of paradise to look good all year round.
Arrive via a tarsealed winding drive through plantings of avocados.
Upon entering the garden you will find Shalendy Cottage which has rural and coastal views, and on a clear day White Island is visible.
Below the cottage is a new wetland/dam area which has been extensively planted in natives, magnolias and contrasting Cerise Forest Pansies.
You can meander the pathways leading up to the main garden or you can walk up the main drive and view the dam area from a claybird shooting area.
In the main garden you will see the large trees - oaks, liquidambers, gingko, amelias, cornus, cherries, magnolias, davida, and a massive weeping willow.
All of the sloping areas are planted and or under planted with maples, camellia, daylilies, David Austin roses, iris, alstromerias, violets and other low growing cover.
In the spring the bulbs and spring flowering shrubs/trees make a stunning display.
To keep the peacefulness, the plantings are in blended colourways with a particular area having different plants perform during the seasons.,
A pair of ponds is the perfect place to sit and enjoy the resident frogs, goldfish and water lillies.
Closer to the home are beds of the more formal roses, and trellis with roses and clematis.
Please visit, take time out to meander and take advantage of the many seating areas throughout the garden.
